The shape of the Spa in 2009

At a well attended extraordinary general meeting on the 8th February it was unanimously

agreed to replace our ladies, men's and seniors bowling committees with a unified

Club Bowling Committee.

A new Committee comprising the following officers, who would be ex officio members of the Committee,

would be elected in October 2008

President  (Chairman )

Ladies Captain* and Vice Captain*

Men's Captain*and Vice Captain*

Secretary

Match Secretary

County Bowling Delegates

Competition Member

in addition there would be two elected members.

* These would form the basis of the selection Committee.

Except where otherwise indicated all positions would be open to all full members of our Club.

This positive step towards unification will reduce the number of elected members on bowling Committees from 31 to 12 and should make the task of attracting sufficient members to fill elected offices each year a more attainable task.

These changes will obviously require a major review of the Club rules and the introduction of a single annual bowling meeting to replace the current three meetings. A meeting of the officers whose positions will be reflected in the new committee will be called during 2008 to prepare for this new management structure and to resolve issues of detail.

 

Officers for 2007/8.Once again we have completed the Club's series of annual meetings and the Committee

members have been elected for 2007/8.
